As you are aware, the 16th ESC congress (May 2020) was postponed since Europe was in the epicentre of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We gladly confirm that the 16th ESC Congress will take place in Ghent, Belgium, 1-4 September 2021.
The Ghent congress has been moved forward a year and merged with the Dublin congress. Part of the Dublin programme will be used in Ghent and as such, an extra day has been added.
Registration & payment
Is my registration fee valid for the new dates in September 2021? Yes, your registration is still valid for the 16th ESC Congress in Ghent, 1-4 September 2021 with no change of fees.
Can I pass my registration to a colleague, what should I do? You can transfer your registration and payment to a colleague for use at the rescheduled congress in 2021. Please fill in the registration & payment form.
My registration was managed by a sponsor or agency, what should I do? From our side your registration is still valid. Please get in touch with your sponsor or agency to arrange your participation.
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the congress in September 2021, can I be reimbursed? Yes, you can claim a refund (a handling fee of € 30 will be applicable) if you are unable to attend. Please complete the registration & payment form. Cancellations received after October 1, 2020 will not be refunded.
I was an invited speaker/guest, what should I do? You will be contacted by the secretariat in the near future.
Abstracts
I had an accepted abstract, what should I do?
Your abstract will be transferred to the ESC Congress in 2021 and will be published in the abstract book (journal supplement) for this 2021 Congress.
I had an accepted free communication or e-poster (presentation), what should I do? If you decide to attend the congress in Ghent and still wish to present your abstract please complete the author form. You will be contacted at the beginning of 2021 with practical details related to the presentation of your free communication or e-poster (presentation).
Can I transfer my presentation (abstract) to a co-author at the rescheduled congress in 2021 (1-4 September), what should I do? Please inform us by by completing the author form.
Can I change my abstract before the new congress dates? You may update any presentation you were scheduled to give, but the abstract will remain as originally sent to us.
I wish to withdraw my abstract/presentation, what should I do? If you wish to withdraw your abstract, please inform us by 15 September 2020 at the latest by completing the author form.
Will there be a new call for abstracts? We will be putting out a call for new abstracts later this year or early next year. The abstracts will be assessed and if successful, added to the programme and abstract book.
