Contraception in woman with HIV infection & Hormonal contraceptives and drug interactions

The TTT session entitled “Contraception in woman with HIV infection, hormonal contraceptives and drug interactions” has been updated based on the latest scientific information. New data on possible impact of hormonal and intrauterine contraception on progression of HIV infection; HIV transmission and acquisition; potential risks related to HIV infection/AIDS; and HIV drug interactions were listed. Interactions of hormonal contraception with anti-epileptic drugs, psychotropic drugs, opioids and psychostimulants, antibiotics, other drugs, and herbal remedies, as well as effects of drugs on the efficacy of hormonal contraception were also described.
